Club Projects
AGUA PRIETA
The Rotary Club of Steamboat Springs participates actively with it’s sister club in Agua Prieta, Mexico (Near Douglas, Arizona) on a variety of projects including school reconstruction, access to potable water and support of local orphanages. In January 2010, Rotarians packaged holiday gift packages and personalized greetings to 135 children in Agua Prieta’s orphanages. Students from the Rotary Interact Club joined local Rotarians traveling to Agua to deliver the gifts and meet with their Interact Club counterparts. This was the third year Steamboat Rotarians provided these gifts.
CHRISTMAS BELL RINGING
Each holiday season Steamboat Springs Rotarians “staff the buckets” in front of Safeway, City Market and downtown Steamboat Springs raising funds for local senior citizen projects. Rotarians Jim Nowak and Donna Weinman helped Rotary raise $2,700 for seniors this Christmas
DOAK WALKER CARE CENTER SING ALONG
Steamboat Springs and Ski Town USA Rotary Clubs travel to the Doak Walker Care Center regularly to sing during the noon meal. This Christmas Rotarians and members of the Rotary High School Interact Club donned holiday garb and belted out Christmas caroles to a delighted audience of seniors.
